Before the idea of having a podhalans’ sheep-dog husbandry we had had other dogs. Some years ago we lived with Pucek – German sheep-dog. After it’s death another dog of this race – Tusia, start to live with us. When first dog had gone we also bought Iwan – Caucasian sheep-dog. Meanwhile a small dog came to our home and we called her Czika. After first three dogs passed away we really didn’t think of buying new one, but…

Everything started, when we were coming back from ski championship in Białka Tatrzańska in March 2004. We had stopped in Zakopane on Krupówki, because our mother asked us to buy cream cakes (which are polish mountain traditional delicacy). We (Mary, Julia and John) stayed in the car while our father went to the shop. Suddenly, after 20 minutes, we saw small, white, cuddly puppy, which our father brought on his hands. The bitch was bought from goral on the corner of Krupówki and Kościeliska street. We called her Bryndza and all the road back while we were talking with mum on the phone we’ve made jokes that we’ll bring her 2 kg of fresh bryndza (cheese from Tatra mountains).

While Bryndza was growing, father decided to buy another dog. And than we had a second small, white puppy. We called him Bacek, because his ancestral name was horrible – Zachar. Bacuś can’t go to exhibition, because he has some faults. On the first exhibition in Łódź he got very good mark (not excellent), because he had bad occlusion. On another exhibition situation was the same and we decided, that Bacek will stay with us and he will look after other (future) dogs. He has perfect character and he is wonderful leader of our podhalans’ sheep-dogs.

After one year we decided to buy Bystra z Furtkowej Bacówki. This transaction was excellent. This bitch is beautiful and she has a character of a typical podhalan. All her qualities encouraged us to have another dog in our home. So after a month we bought Spinka z Zadymy. She is beautiful, but in a different type than Bystra. Spinka has very strong character, so she is obeying only our father. Bacek is the only dog, which can rule her.

While both bitches were growing we decided to take them to the exhibition. It appeared that they can be the bitches of breeding. On all exhibition they got excellent mark. They got also medals, also gold.

Unfortunately, meanwhile Bryndza – our first podhalan dog has gone in the car accident. But we always have her in our minds and we never forget, that thanks to her we have our husbandry.

When we calm down after this horrible situation, after half a year we bought a bitch – Rosa. Even if her father is a very famous champion, she isn’t really in podhalan’s type. We decided, that she can’t be in our husbandry. We gave her away to people, who love animal and who’ll really tak care of her. She is in good hands. Daily she goes for a walk and her family has a lot of time for her. We will never forget her and we will try to visit her.

When Rosa has already been at our home we bought Baca z Siwej Polany – we called him Boron, because we had one Baca. Now he is a puppy, so it is difficult to say something about him. On his first exhibition in Krakow the referees liked him very much so she got perspectives for a really beautiful dog. He has already been signed up for the instruction course, because he has to know how to behave at home and on the exhibition.

All dogs looks wonderful. We are very happy, that we have so beautiful, big and sedate dogs.
